Totlob documentation

Totlob is a retail platform built from three products: a point of sale for the shop floor, a dashboard for running the business, and the API behind both. This site documents all of it, in two ways.

Product tour

What Totlob does, in plain language. Start here if you want to see what the system can do for a shop.

Technical reference

How the system is built: architecture, the API, the apps, permissions, and how to run and deploy it.

Selling in store

Search or scan, add modifiers, take cash, card or Whish, print the receipt, and close the drawer.

Running the business

Orders, products, stock across branches, discounts, customers, staff, and reports.

The three products

ProductWho uses itWhat it does
Point of sale (totlob-pos)Cashiers and baristas at the tillSells products, takes payments, prints receipts, and manages the cash drawer for each shift.
Merchant dashboard (merchant-dashboard-v2)Owners, managers and back-office staffManages the catalogue, stock, orders, customers, staff, discounts, settings and reports. Available in English and Arabic.
Platform API (api-v2)Both apps, plus storefront websites and internal toolsHolds all the data and business rules: pricing, tax, discounts, stock, permissions, accounting.

Everything a cashier does at the till appears in the dashboard straight away, because both apps work on the same data. A sale at the till lowers stock, shows up in the orders list, and lands in the accounts.

Which area should I read?

  • Product tour: for owners, sales, onboarding and anyone who wants to know what Totlob can do. No technical knowledge needed.
  • Technical reference: for engineers who build, run or integrate with Totlob. Covers how each part works, with file paths, endpoints and operational notes.

Accurate as of October 2026

Both areas describe the code on each repository's master branch as of 3 October 2026. Anything still being built is labelled in progress, and the Coming soon page lists it in one place.
